Wireless Digital Video:Firmware upgrade
From Wireless Digital Video
Introduction
WiDV's firmware is stored on the SD Card and can be updated by copying the new firmware file over. We recommend to upgrade the transmitter and receiver units at the same time to avoid any difference across versions that could produce strange behaviors.
The firmware files are stored on the boot partition partition of the SD Card. This is a FAT partition that can be accessed with any Microsoft Windows or Linux computer.
How to upgrade WiDV transmitter unit
- Download the latest firmware available, this will be a file with named widv_tx.zip.
- Insert the transmitter's SD Card into a SD Card's reader on your computer. Ensure that the SD Card is not write-protected.
- A new unit named WiDV_TXBoot should appear. Unzip widv_tx.zip into this unit, overwriting any previous files.
- Click the Safely Remove Hardware icon located at the bottom-right corner of your screen before extracting the SD Card.
- Extract the SD Card and insert it back on the transmitter.
How to upgrade WiDV receiver unit
